This is a preview of my album SEARCH FOR FREEDOM AND GOD, the songs of which incorporate knowledge garnered through my exploration of spirituality (mediation, therapy, etc), and specifically highlight my experience growing up as a gay, half-white/half-Indian man in Texas.
Having been born in 1983 in Austin, I faced significant challenges navigating my adolescence, since attitudes toward LGBTQ+ issues and racial equality were not what they are today. Paradoxically, I feel that this period -- although challenging -- made me stronger and served as a primary catalyst for my artistic and entrepreneurial drives.
The last eight or so years, I have been on a long journey of therapy and have come to understand the value of my unique human experience ... causing me to recalibrate my conditioned concepts of "god" and "freedom."
These songs give an indication of the eventual complete ten song collection, which is currently in production. This album was made possible in part by a grant from the City of Austin Live Music Fund.
